An Introduction

Texacloth was founded by our current Managing Director, Aidan Walsh in 1972. We have been buying wool in Scotland and Northern Ireland for 20 years, Wales and Southern England for 15 years and 40 years in the Republic of Ireland. With over 3,000 farmers on board, we hope our reputation speaks for itself. We pride ourselves on being a wholly owned and family run business, hence our ability to pay excellent prices to our loyal farmers.

What we do

We buy our wool directly from farmers in Ireland and the UK and from Wool Auctions. All our wool is exported to our main market in China. We also export to India and Europe. We are very proud of our relationship with the Chinese, having built a trusted relationship over 30 years. Aidan has personally visited China 68 times since Texacloth started trading.

How we work with you, the Farmer

We simply ask you to deliver your wool to the closest depot, where it is weighed in front of you. We don’t have any complex grading systems and will confirm the prices prior to delivery. Payment is via electronic transfer, for the wool that you have weighed. We will see you again later in the year if you winter shear. That’s it. Simple.
